The three universities’ officials have issued statements, underlining that those students of these academic centers that were arrested during the recent unrest have been freed.
President of Amirkabir University of Technology Hassan Ghodsypour said that the management of the university started negotiations for the release of the arrested students from day one, so the students were freed in several stages, and now in the last step, two students have been freed.
Ghodsypour pointed to the inappropriate behavior of some students during the recent gatherings, noting that students of the Amirkabir University of Technology raised their demands and asked their questions in a proper manner, so the officials of the university replied to them appropriately.
He went on to say that issues can be resolved by the use of rational dialogue and in a scientific atmosphere, adding that the presence of unauthorized people in academic centers, who try to disrupt order, is condemned.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Department of Shahid Beheshti University announced in a communique that all of the students of the university arrested within the last two weeks have been released from detention following efforts made by university officials.
Moreover, Deputy Head of the University of Tehran for Student Affairs Alireza Vajhi said that most students of the university have been released, and based on coordination made between the academic center and the authorities, there would not be any student in custody within three days.
